Linda C. Wisniewski will read from, discuss and sign her book Off Kilter: A Woman's Journey to Peace with Scoliosis, Her Mother, & Her Polish Heritage at the Hunterdon County Library in Flemington, NJ at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009.
Wisniewski will discuss her life growing up in the Polish neighborhood of factory town Amsterdam, NY, where she knew her life wasn't the same as most other girls. Even before she was diagnosed with scoliosis (curvature of the spine) at 13, she felt off kilter. Off Kilter shows Wisniewski learning to stretch her Self as well as her sping as she comes to terms with her mentally deteriorating, widowed mother. By accepting her physical condition as well as her Polish American heritage, she finally found balance and a life that fits.
After her talk, Wisniewski will sell and sign copies of her book.
The program is free and open to the public. Reservations can be made by calling 908-788-1434 or by visiting the library's online Events Calendar at www.hclibrary.us.
